US-based Jamaican recording artiste Kranium participated in a fun stint on Elle.com‘s popular #SongAssociation online series.
Before challenging the clock, he rated his chances at doing well, highly; he would eventually score 12 out of 15. Pretty good. Kranium attributed the depth of his music knowledge to mainly listening to gospel music and old school artistes, like “Beres Hammond and Sam Cooke“, while growing up.
He added that his grandmother didn’t want him listening to “boogaraga” music.
“I was going through something at the time and I didn’t know how to handle it, and he, like, break it down for me… Shout out Usher for that. Until this day it (the advice) still stands.”
The major label mainstay’s most recent album, Midnight Sparks – a 12-track offering – was released in December 2019
Elle’s audiovisual series, involves artistes being fed words and given 10 seconds intervals, on each guess, to sing a song lyric which includes the word.
