Mutli-dimensional artiste Zac Jone$ has teamed up with reggae crooner Jesse Royal on The Weed Song, dedicated to the feeling one gets from the herb. According to Zac, he wrote the song at a time when he was overwhelmed with his busy lifestyle.
He said, “I wrote this song at a time when I was busy doing a lot of things outside of music. Every night after work I’d sit outside in my garden and smoke and I’d feel good in that moment; like that was my escape. One of those nights I just wanted to put that feeling into song. I pulled up the beat from Io (producer/artist Iotosh) and it all came together right there. I was saving it for the right feature, so when Jesse heard it a few months later and started writing his verse on the spot, I knew that was it. It was all organic so that was dope.”
Accompanying the single is a dope music video directed by Jesse Suchomel, which finds Zac and Jesse enjoying the herb with friends including Tessellated and Potential Kidd. The Weed Song is the third single from Zac’s upcoming EP Man A Yard. The single serves as the follow-up to his track Lonely, released in February this year and Miss Jamaica featuring Agent Sasco, released December 2019.
