The organizers of the much-anticipated Gargamel Music And Boom Energy Drinks Long Walk to Freedom Concert, slated for Saturday, March 16th, have officially released the star-studded line-up.
Sharing the stage with Grammy Award winner Buju Banton at the National Stadium are a diverse selection of talented artistes.
The inaugural concert, which will kick off the official Long Walk To Freedom Tour, will feature Chronixx, Cocoa Tea, Etana, Ghost, Romain Virgo, LUST, Agent Sasco, Delly Ranks, and Buju’s son Jahazeil.
Buju Banton’s publicist, Ronnie Tomlinson, says that Buju is active in organizing the line-up for the event and is continuing preparation as he anticipates ‘to hold a joy’ with his fans.
In addition to the announced acts, patrons should still expect other ‘friends’ to make appearances. “I would like fans to know even though we have announced some of Reggae and Dancehall top artistes to be a part of this historical concert, remember Buju has many friends. So you never know who else will come out on stage with Buju” she said.
Buju is looking forward to being on a local stage after more than a decade and rehearsals are still going on.
In an earlier interview with Billboard magazine, Buju’s keyboardist and musical director Stephen ‘Lenky’ Marsden had also confirmed that rehearsals were in high gear and he had been told by Buju to… “Make sure you know all my songs. He told us to rehearse all of his albums, so we are working on the arrangements for every song he ever recorded.”
Only bleachers tickets for the Long Walk To Freedom Jamaica concert are still available and you can purchase them at bujubanton.com
