Multiple Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and celebrated Reggae producer, Stephen “Ragga” Marley, is set to release his fourth studio album, Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life, July 22, amidst a spectacular summer tour, announced today. The coast-to-coast run begins in Redway, CA on Thursday, May 26, includes multiple festivals and will see 44 cities ending in New Orleans on Sunday, July 24.
Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life pre-order goes live on iTunes Friday, May 27, boasting three instant grat tracks Rock Stone feat. Capleton & Sizzla, Ghetto Boy feat. Bounty Killer & Cobra and Scars on my Feet feat. Waka Flocka. Fans who pre-order the digital version will also receive additional instant grat tracks on June 10, June 24 and July 8, those who wait for the physical release will receive a download card – bringing the total to 23 tracks for digital and 22 tracks for the July 22 physical release.
Fruit of Life is the second instalment of his two part series, following Revelation Part I: The Root of Life (2012). Whereas The Root of Life is more a traditional roots reggae album, The Fruit of Life will utilize a diversified sonic palette to express the far-reaching impact Jamaican music has had on various genres, especially hip hop. Produced by Marley, Fruit of Life boasts 18 new tracks and features a variety of guest collaborations with Rick Ross, Pit Bull, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Iggy Azalea, Waka Flocka, Dead Prez, Rakim, DJ Khaled, Busta Rhymes, Wyclef Jean, Shaggy, Black Thought (of The Roots), Bounty Killer, Sizzla, Capleton, Ky-Mani Marley, Jo Mersa and more.
