With Billboard Magazine listing her as one of  their top 25, in their Next Big Sound feature, Kat Dahlia is one to watch!

The Miami bred Cuban/American’s combination of hustle and infectious vocals is the reason why music industry veteran Sylvia Rhone swiftly signed Kat to her Vested in Culture label with Epic Records the very first time she heard her demos.

Her first single Gangsta  is at 4.9 million views on YouTube and her  hotly anticipated debut album,  My Garden is scheduled for release this fall.

Dahlia’s musical style has been described as being “razor sharp” lyrics and her unique, aggressive flow, with influences from Frank Sinatra to Reggae’s King Bob Marley.

o-access JAMAICA caught up with Kat to find out her Top 5 Favourite Reggae Songs.

Check out what they are below in no particular order:

  • Night Nurse by Gregory Isaacs …. “Classic!  Dope vibe”.
  • Legalize It by Peter Tosh …. “I used to jam to him every morning on my way to school, one of my fave tunes of his, some call it MARIJUANA!”
  • Natural Mystic by  Bob Marley …. “Bob has an endless catalogue, can’t just have one favourites … But this is one of them… The vibe and message is everything.”
  • Black Roses by Barrington Levy …. “Swag!  Barrington’s voice is ridiculous. One of my faves of his.”
  • I Shall Sing by Toots and The Maytals …. “This group is dope… They have endless records… Again can’t pick a fave, but this is or of them … Great vibe.”
